Why this matters

Your sitemap is how search engines (and AI crawlers like Replyflow) discover what's on your site. A broken or missing sitemap means content goes uncrawled, which means it goes unanswered when a visitor asks about it.

What we check

robots.txt — the canonical place to declare a sitemap location
/sitemap.xml — the most common default
/sitemap_index.xml — used when sitemaps are split (large sites)
/wp-sitemap.xml — WordPress 5.5+ default

Common problems we surface

Sitemap returns a 404 even though robots.txt advertises it
Index sitemap that points at child sitemaps which don't exist
Malformed XML that Googlebot can read but other crawlers can't
Empty sitemap (URL set with zero entries)
